Words cannot say “Thank You” enough to everyone who came out Saturday, May 20th, and held out in the rainy weather for our Spring Kick Off Picnic and our White Rose Dedication in honor of our Vietnam Veterans. The Kenosha Vietnam Veterans Group Honor Guard started off the ceremony with a 21 Gun Salute and the playing of Taps. Kids Rank Founder Kelcey Liverpool led us in the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by her opening remarks and the Village of Wadsworth’s Mayor, Glenn Ryback, speaking as well. Then we had the planting of the memorial rose bush with the Benediction by Deacon Bob Ochsner. Due to the weather unfortunately our flyover by the Heritage Foundation Warbirds was cancelled, however a good time by all was had. We had plenty of food for everyone enjoy as well as a band that played later on in the afternoon.
Thank you to all our volunteers for your hard work in helping us get ready for the event, without you we could not have done it. Please visit our Facebook Page for all of the photos from the day’s event but below are just a few teasers.
